The challenge.

Generate a sleek website to drum-up excitement and preorders for a, first-of-its-kind, smart window mount air conditioner. With a set of wires, a handful of headline and subhead pairings, and no imagery (since the product hadn’t come to market yet) I was tasked with creating a compelling comp with not a lot to work with.

Exploration started with understanding the UX, finding reference sites that I thought appealed to this audience, establishing a grid and considering different type pairings.

The result.

While this comp didn’t make the final cut, I believe it influenced much of what eventually launched. Inspiration was drawn from Sonos and BASIC, and the result was a pretty clean concept for what Kapsul could potentially launch. I was a contractor on the project, so communication and context was limited with such a fast timeline and yet, I believe this is still a strong WIP.
